The 21-year old is currently at the end of his two year loan spell from Los Blancos to Dortmund. At the end of this season, he will return to his parent club and will likely stay there only if they want him too.
Hakimi explained that he always consider Madrid like his home, so returning will be his main option. However, if they don’t want him there, he won’t have any problem looking for another team to write his new chapter.
The player revealed that statement in recent interview with Telefoot, pretty much hinting at his possible return to Los Blancos. Even though Dortmund are keen on keeping Hakimi, the player will wait for Madrid’s decision about his future.
“Real Madrid are the club I call home. I’ve really enjoyed myself there and played lots of games there,” Hakimi said.
“If Madrid want me to go back, I’ll go back. and if not, I’ll have to write the next chapter at another great club.”
Hakimi won’t be short on options if Madrid are opting to pass on him as the Moroccan international is wanted by many. Aside from Dortmund, there’s also strong interest from Bayern Munich for the offensive full back.
Los Blancos themselves apparently are yet to make their final decision on the player, but they are calm. Whatever choices they will make regarding Hakimi will most likely give Madrid advantages.
Considering his fine display with Dortmund, Madrid could just sell him for big many to any of the player’s suitors. However, keeping the player is also a very good decision as they have a quality young full back without having to spend anymore money next summer.
